As a Sales Associate, you’ll be on the front lines engaging with prospective clients, building meaningful connections, and supporting them in navigating regulatory requirements. You’ll contribute directly to growing the business by qualifying leads, conducting discovery conversations, and coordinating closely with our delivery teams to ensure client success.

This role is ideal for someone who is people-focused, tech-savvy, and energized by helping companies solve real cybersecurity challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and develop new business opportunities in the DoD supply chain and defense contracting sector through outbound outreach, networking, referrals, and industry events.
  • Client Engagement: Conduct initial discovery calls/meetings to understand client needs, challenges, and compliance requirements (CMMC, NIST, ISO, etc.).
  • Solution Education: Clearly communicate CyberNINES’ services and how we help others achieve cybersecurity compliance without unnecessary complexity. Employ active listening and consultative selling utilizing clear and confident communication.
  • Pipeline Management: Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients, from initial contact to contract closure. Manage and track leads, opportunities, and sales activities using CRM tools, ensuring accurate and timely updates. Prepare proposals with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Relationship Building: Develop long-term relationships, focusing on trust, transparency, and education.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, delivery, and leadership teams to align solutions with client needs and ensure a smooth handoff from sales to service delivery.
  • Market Awareness: Stay current on CMMC regulations, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS requirements, cybersecurity compliance trends, regulatory changes, and challenges faced by the DIB.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. All employees are subject to security screening
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Business, or a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, account management, or customer-facing roles with previous experience in cybersecurity, SaaS, or technology consulting environments
  • Familiarity with CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, or ISO 27001 (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a personable, consultative, and educational approach
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously in a scaling, fast-paced dynamic environment

Key Competencies:

  • Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new tools (CRM systems, communication platforms, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Microsoft Office and computer proficiency
  • Collaborative and team-oriented where no job is too big or too small

Location: Fully Remote (with occasional travel to industry events)

Travel Requirements: Up to 20% travel as needed
